Funding for <br />roadway cleaning and sanitation services is provided through the Sanitation Services <br />Users Charge (Sanitation Fee), collected bi-monthly along with other charges in the <br />City's Municipal Utility Services bill. <br />Background <br />On December 5, 2023, the City Council authorized the initiation of the process to adjust <br />the Sanitation Fee in compliance with California’s Proposition 218 requirements. This <br />comprehensive approach involved preparing and distributing proposed rate adjustment <br />notices, scheduling a public hearing on February 20, 2024, and completing essential <br />documentation for the proposed sanitation fee adjustment.
