P.M. City Attorney Sonia Carvalho announced that the City Council made the decision to clear the Chamber pursuant to the terms of the Brown Act which states that when a meeting's decorum cannot be restored the City has the right to clear the room and continue with the public meeting, inviting members of the media back in to the Chamber, and making sure there is live audio and video feed of the meeting. Mayor Pro Tern Lopez stated she was not part of the decision to clear the City Council Chamber. Mayor Amezcua explained why the City Council Chamber was cleared. Councilmembers Hernandez and Vazquez stated they were not part of the decision to clear the City Council Chambers.
