The motion carried, 7-0, by the following roll call vote: <br />AYES: COUNCILMEMBER BACERRA, COUNCILMEMBER <br />HERNANDEZ, COUNCILMEMBER LOPEZ, <br />COUNCILMEMBER PENALOZA, COUNCILMEMBER <br />VAZQUEZ, MAYOR PRO TEM PHAN, MAYOR AMEZCUA <br />NOES: NONE <br />ABSTAIN: NONE <br />ABSENT: NONE <br />Status: 7 — 0 — Pass <br />END OF PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />RECESS <br />MINUTES: Mayor Amezcua recessed the City Council meeting to consider the <br />Housing Authority Agenda at 10:56 P.M. <br />RECONVENE <br />MINUTES: Mayor Amezcua reconvened the City Council meeting at 10:57 P.M. <br />CITY MANAGER COMMENTS <br />MINUTES: Interim City Manager Tom Hatch gave an update on the proposed Orange <br />County Needle Exchange Program. <br />Mayor Amezcua spoke regarding the importance of the issue and requested an <br />update on this item at the beginning of the meeting. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Phan requested staff reach out to Assemblymember Tri Ta regarding <br />this matter. <br />Councilmember Penaloza spoke regarding the history of this item. <br />Councilmember Hernandez left the meeting at 11:03 P.M. <br />COUNCILCOMMENTS <br />A131234 DISCLOSURE — If the City paid for travel or other expenses this is the time for <br />members of the Council to provide a brief oral report on attendance of any regional board <br />or commission meeting or any conference, meeting or event attended. <br />MINUTES: Councilmember Vazquez thanked staff and the City Council for all their <br />assistance, guidance, hard work, and encouragement. <br />Councilmember Lopez spoke regarding two incidents related to ticketing and requested <br />an update from staff regarding this matter. <br />CITY COUNCIL 32 FEBRUARY 20, 2024 <br />
