CITY COUNCIL 16 MARCH 5, 2024 <br />MOTION: Councilmember Vazquez moved to approve the recommended <br />action for Item No. 18, as amended, seconded by Councilmember Hernandez. <br />The motion carried, 4-1-0-2, by the following roll call vote: <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSTAIN: <br />ABSENT: <br />COUNCILMEMBER HERNANDEZ, COUNCILMEMBER <br />LOPEZ, COUNCILMEMBER VAZQUEZ, MAYOR PRO TEM <br />PHAN <br />MAYOR AMEZCUA <br />NONE <br />COUNCILMEMBER BACERRA, COUNCILMEMBER <br />PENALOZA <br />Status: 4 – 1 – 0 - 2 – Pass <br />**END OF BUSINESS CALENDAR** <br />CITY MANAGER COMMENTS WAS MOVED OUT OF ORDER AND HEARD AFTER <br />CEREMONIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />AB1234 DISCLOSURE – If the City paid for travel or other expenses this is the time for <br />members of the Council to provide a brief oral report on attendance of any regional board <br />or commission meeting or any conference, meeting or event attended. <br />MINUTES: Councilmember Hernandez thanked everyone for their participation and staff <br />for their hard work and efforts. <br />Councilmember Vazquez spoke regarding the ceasefire resolution and thanked the public <br />for their participation. <br />Councilmember Lopez thanked members of the public for their participation. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Phan spoke regarding her position on the ceasefire resolution. <br />Mayor Amezcua thanked the Police Department for their hard work and efforts and <br />Commissioner Tim Johnson for his comments. She spoke regarding the passing of Orange <br />County Fire Authority (OCFA) Fire Captain Rob Culp, expressed her condolences to the <br />OCFA family and his family, requested the flags be flown in his honor, and thanked OCFA and <br />the Police Department for their service. <br />Council announced their support of Mayor Amezcua’s request regarding flags.
