Resolution 2024-XXX <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO ADOPT AND APPROVE A COUNCIL <br />APPOINTEE SALARY SCHEDULE IN COMPLIANCE WITH <br />TITLE 2 OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS <br />SECTION 570.5 AND THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEM (CALPERS) <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines, and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. CalPERS requires public agencies to list their compensation levels in salary <br />schedules by bargaining group or unit, and approved and adopted by the <br />agency’s governing body, in compliance with Title 2 of the California Code of <br />Regulations section 570.5. <br />B. It is the City’s practice to enter into employment agreements with Council <br />Appointees, which include compensation terms and conditions. <br />C. CalPERS does not consider publicly available employment agreements <br />adopted and approved by an agency’s governing body, on their own, to meet <br />the requirements of Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations section 570.5. <br />D. At this time, City Council desires to approve and adopt an updated Council <br />Appointee salary schedule reflecting recent employment agreements, <br />amendments, and/or resolutions to meet the requirements and be in <br />compliance with Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations section 570.5. <br />Section 2. The Santa Ana City Council hereby adopts and approves the Council <br />Appointee salary schedule attached hereto to this resolution as Exhibit "A" and compiled <br />from employment agreements, amendments, and/or resolutions recently adopted and <br />approved by the City Council. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is operative from and after the date upon which it is <br />adopted. The classification compensation retroactive effective dates are indicated in <br />Exhibit “A” attached hereto.
