Flores, Dora
From: Liz A <
Sent: Monday, March 18, 2024 10:27 PM
To: eComment
Subject: Vote NO on Item #24
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear city council of Santa Ana,
I request that you vote AGAINST item 924 on the agenda for March 19.
I'm a resident of Santa Ana, born and raised. I care about this city and it's people. I am concerned that the people
are at risk of being censored by their own city government.
I see item #24 as a desperate attempt to shut down recent pro-Palestenian protests. The protestors for Palestine
have been peaceful, and do not warrant such retaliation.
The people are trying to use their voice. Perhaps the mayor interprets loudness as unpeaceful. The reality is,
forced decorum is a facet of white supremacy. If the mayor were actually interested in the liberty of the people,
she would understand this.
The people have a right to express themselves, in the very streets of the city that they live in.
Do not limit my voice. Do not oppress the people of Santa Ana.
- Elizabeth Altamirano
