Flores, Dora
From: Roberta Johnson <
Sent: Monday, April 15, 2024 7:02 AM
To: eComment; Flores, David
Subject: CDBG funding for childcare
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
To whom it may concern:
It is clear that there is a critical lack of resources available for childcare providers, and therefore families, in our
city.
When the success of children is neglected, the state of the community in which those children live will suffer.
As a dedicated childcare provider in Santa Ana, I speak from experience.
I am deeply concerned about the challenges faced by both daycare owners and families due to this shortage of
support.
The city council's decision not to fund economic development programs for the childcare sector is very
unfortunate and leaves many of us feeling overlooked and undervalued.
This lack of support not only impacts the well-being of our children but also contributes to the economic strain
on working families.
City council must reconsider and prioritize support for the childcare sector.
Roberta Johnson
