Araiza, Fatima
From:Tim Johnson <tjohnson@jlkrllp.com>
Sent:Monday, May 06, 2024 6:23 PM
To:eComment; Amezcua, Valerie; Lopez, Jessie; Bacerra, Phil; Penaloza, David; Hernandez,
Johnathan; Phan, Thai; Vazquez, Benjamin
Cc:Flores, David; Garcia, Michael (CDA)
Subject:Item 29- CDBG
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Mayor Amezcua, Mayor Pro Tem Phan, my Ward 3 Councilmember Lopez and all of our City Council…As you consider
Item 29 on Tuesday evening, please know this CDBG funding makes a big difference in allowing organiza?ons to provide
service to residents in need. I am excited to see WISEPlace’s name on the Public Service Organiza?ons list and urge you
to con?nue to support WISEPlace.

As many of you know, WISEPlace is providing extremely needed services right here in Santa Ana. I am pleased to see
WISEPlace joined by other organiza?ons on the Public Service list but specifically I am excited about the fact that
WISEPlace has been able to work along side our city resources in providing needed housing and services to
unaccompanied homeless women. I am excited about the fact that those right nearby the Broadway loca?on, including
those in my Ward 3 neighborhood, support WISEPlace. I am excited about the opportuni?es that grants/funding like the
ones you are considering with Item 29 help allow WISEPlace to be able to help some of the most vulnerable in our
community.

I know that the City has supported WISEPlace before with unanimous support of those on this council as well as past
ones. I want you to know that we do not take your support for granted and we are so very thankful for past support and
looking forward to con?nuing to work with the city in providing for those in our community. The staff and volunteers
work each day to be good stewards of the funds that our city, and hence the residents, trusts us with. This funding
allows us to make a big difference in each of the lives of the ladies that we are striving to help towards independence by
providing safe shelter, rehousing, and the necessary services that increase likelihood of success including financial
literacy, job searches, job training, deposit assistance, and needed addic?on/mental health services.

I urge you to support WISEPlace’s spot in the funding on Tuesday evening.

Thanks,
Tim Johnson
Ward 3 Resident
WISEPlace President of the Board
Tim Johnson , CPA

Partner

(949) 860-9892

(714) 743-1065

tjohnson@jlkrllp.com

2601 Main Street, Suite 580, Irvine, CA 92614

See our latest business news and insights by clicking here

1
