May 7, 2024 <br />Page 1 <br />Santa Ana Housing Authority – Quarterly Report <br />Third Quarter of FY 2023-24 <br />JANUARY – MARCH 2024 <br />Housing Choice Voucher Program Quarterly Report <br />The January 1, 2024 to March 31, 2024 Quarterly Report for the Housing Choice Voucher <br />(HCV) Program provides information on the day-to-day activities of the Santa Ana <br />Housing Authority. The report is divided into three (3) sections: Applicants, Participants, <br />and Production. <br />Applicants <br />The Santa Ana Housing Authority accepted applications from May 2, 2022 through May <br />31, 2022 and received a total of 20,759 applications. A random lottery procedure was <br />applied and the Santa Ana Housing Authority accepted 7,500 of the 20,759 applications <br />to establish a 2022 HCV Waiting List. <br />Charts 1 and 2 depict the characteristics of those applicants currently on the Waiting List. <br />As of March 31, 2024, the Housing Authority has selected 587 applicants from the 2022 <br />HCV Waiting List. <br />Chart 1 illustrates the percentage of <br />applicants on the 2022 HCV Waiting List who <br />live or work in Santa Ana. These applicants <br />are given a preference on the Waiting List <br />together with U.S. Military Veterans. <br />Chart 2 illustrates the number of applicants <br />by total household size. The majority of <br />applicants on the Waiting List consist of only <br />one (1) or two (2) household members. Over <br />half of all applicants (4,685 of the 7,500 <br />applicants or 62%) have one (1) or two (2) <br />member households and would qualify for a <br />one-bedroom voucher.
