A-1992-139 <br />tp/ MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />AND THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REGARDING POLICE PATROL SERVICES <br />IN CIVIC CENTER <br />This Memorandum <br />of <br />Understanding <br />("MOU"), <br />dated for <br />identification this <br />15 <br />day of <br />October <br />, 1992, is entered <br />into by and between the COUNTY OF ORANGE, a political subdivision of <br />the State of California (hereinafter, "COUNTY"), and the CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA, a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the State of <br />California (hereinafter; "CImY"); <br />WHEREAS, as used in this MOU, the term "Civic Center area" refers <br />to that geographical area, external to the buildings, in the City of <br />Santa Ana, California, bordered by Shelton Street on the West, <br />Sycamore Street on the East, Santa Ana Boulevard on the South, and <br />Civic Center Drive on the North; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY have a mutual interest in providing an <br />appropriate level of staffing for police services in the Civic Center <br />area; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY mutually control, and may authorize <br />expenditures from, that certain fund known as the Civic Center <br />Parking/Maintenance Fund (hereinafter, "the Fund"), which said Fund is <br />derived from the revenues of certain parking facilities in the Civic <br />Center area which are jointly owned and operated by the CITY and <br />COUNTY; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of the parties hereto that CITY, <br />through its police department, will provide a specified level of <br />DHR\394 1. <br />
