Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Mayor and
the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement amending the
Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Orange and the
City of Santa Ana to include an additional police officer and a
larger area of responsibility for patrol services in the Civic
Center.
2. The City is reimbursed
for the cost of these services through the Civic Center
Parking/Maintenance Fund. The County of Orange wishes to amend the
current Memorandum of Understanding by increasing the number of
officers from seven to eight and extending the service area
boundaries (Exhibit 1). The County has agreed to reimburse the
City $5,833.33 per month for the additional services from sources
other than the Civic Center Parking/Maintenance Fund. The newly
created position will be staffed by an officer from existing ranks
and the resulting vacancy will be filled by hiring a new police
officer. Consequently, overall law enforcement services to the
City will not be affected.
001
Boa
C.S. 383
