City of Santa Ana Emergency Operations Plan <br />Part I Basic Plan <br />2.1.5.5 Police Services <br />Santa Ana maintains its own Police Department that provides all police services, including 911 dispatch, police <br />patrol, criminal investigations and prosecution, traffic enforcement, traffic accident investigation, parking <br />enforcement, crime prevention, jail operations and emergency management and homeland security. For patrol <br />purposes, the Police Department divides the City into four Patrol Districts:29 <br />• Northeast District: Serves all areas north of First Street and east of Flower Street <br />• Southeast District: Serves all areas south of First Street and east of Flower Street <br />• Southcoast District: Serves all areas south of First Street and west of Flower Street <br />• Westend District: Serves all areas north of First Street and west of Flower Street and the Santa Ana River <br />Figure 21 Police Department Geographic Districts <br />2.1.5.6 Santa Ana Unified School District School Police Department <br />SAUSD School Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for Santa Ana Unified School District. <br />The Santa Ana School Police Department is the third largest school police agency in California and consists of 28 <br />sworn peace officers, 6 dispatchers, 44 civilian District Safety Officers and professional office staff. <br />The Department provides 24-hour a day service to over 45,000 students and 3,665 full-time, 2189 part-time and <br />volunteer staff members at 60 schools and District locations; covering 24 of the 27 square miles within the City. <br />School Police personnel work collaboratively with Santa Ana Police Department and other agencies to keep <br />students and staff safe. <br />29 http://www.ci.santa-ana.ca.us/pd/documents/SantaAnaPoliceDepartment20l4A-nnualReport.pdf <br />21 <br />
