2. Provide input for future Council Aide Services agreements regarding not to <br />exceed amounts by selecting one of the following options: <br />a. Option 1: Invoicing not to exceed $5,000 per month per agreement, with <br />monthly invoicing of hourly rates, material, and other reimbursable items; <br />or <br />b. Option 2: Invoicing not to exceed $60,000 per year per agreement, with <br />monthly invoicing of hourly rates, material, and other reimbursable items <br />MINUTES: Assistant City Manager Steven Mendoza provided a presentation <br />regarding amendments to consultant agreements. <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Phan moved to approve the recommended action <br />no. 1 for Item No. 28, seconded by Mayor Amezcua. <br />The motion carried, 6-1, by the following roll call vote: <br />AYES: COUNCILMEMBER BACERRA, COUNCILMEMBER LOPEZ, <br />COUNCILMEMBER PENALOZA, COUNCILMEMBER <br />VAZQUEZ, MAYOR PRO TEM PHAN, MAYOR AMEZCUA <br />NOES: COUNCILMEMBER HERNANDEZ <br />ABSTAIN: NONE <br />ABSENT: NONE <br />Status: 6 —1 -- Pass <br />MINUTES: Assistant City Manager Mendoza provided a presentation regarding the <br />future Council Aide Services agreements. <br />Councilmember Lopez requested a resolution reflecting campaign prohibitions, <br />limitations on the number of aides, salary range, and hours. <br />Councilmember Hernandez requested parameters such as no conflict of interest, <br />no campaigning, and no misuse of public funds. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the parameters of future Council aide agreements. <br />Councilmember Lopez spoke in support of option 2. <br />Councilmember Penaloza spoke in support of abolishing the program. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the salary range of council aides. <br />Councilmember Hernandez spoke in support of option 2 <br />Councilmember Penaloza echoed previous comments. <br />**END OF BUSINESS CALENDAR** <br />CITY COUNCIL. 16 MAY 7, 2024 <br />
