Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/public-works <br />Item # 19 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />Staff Report <br />June 4, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Purchase of One Ford F-150 Responder Truck for the Santa Ana Police <br />Department <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Purchase Order to National Auto Fleet Group for One Ford F-150 Responder Truck <br />(Spec No. 24-066) (Non -General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of a purchase order to National Auto Fleet <br />Group for one 2024 Ford F-150 Responder truck in an amount of $58,399 plus a <br />contingency amount of $5,000, for a total amount not to exceed $63,399. <br />GOVERNMENT CODE §84308 APPLIES: No <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency's Parks, Fleet, and Facilities Division is responsible for the <br />acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance <br />equipment. <br />The Santa Ana Police Department would like to add a new Ford F-150 Responder truck <br />in support of the Quality of Life Team (QOLT) operations. The officers assigned to <br />QOLT will use this vehicle to transport individuals and their belongings to the Navigation <br />Center in the absence of contract crews, and to access locations better suited with a <br />truck instead of the standard Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle driven by patrol <br />officers. The Community Development Agency is providing the funds for the purchase of <br />the truck as it serves the purpose of assisting individuals experiencing homelessness. <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-3041 authorizes the City to purchase against <br />contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. Sourcewell, a <br />cooperative government purchasing agency, awarded a contract to National Auto Fleet <br />Group (Contract No. 091521-NAF) as a result of open, competitive bidding on behalf of <br />its members, which includes government agencies. <br />Staff researched available procurement options and product offerings in the market and <br />determined that National Auto Fleet Group meets the City's specifications.
