Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Dear Santa Ana City Council Member,

I understand that there is a movement underway to defund the Bowers Museum. As a docent who volunteers at the
Bowers Museum, I urge you to consider the many benefits that the residents of Santa Ana and the greater community
receive.

I experience the joy and interest of every guest I tour. The visitors are grateful for the entertainment and learning
experience. This is arguably the best cultural museum in Orange County. The exhibits and permanent galleries
make this a vital place to enjoy worldwide arts and culture. And, schoolchildren are afforded the opportunity to
understand and appreciate California's rich history. The festivals, art projects for seniors, storytime for children,
book club, and more, afford activites and events for a broad spectrum of people. The museum follows principles of
inclusion and access to the entire public.

For all these reasons, the Bowers Museum should not be defunded. It is a not only a wonderful cultural arts Museum,
but a place of pride where Santa Ana residents go for relaxation, entertainment, and community and educational
programs.

Sincerely,
Tracy Strousse

1
