Closure of the River View Golf Course

As a Retired USAF Vietnam Era Veteran I will be denied playing golf at the River View Golf
Course if it’s lease is not renewed. Along with the other 74 members of the River View Senior
Golf Club, the majority of which are also Veterans they, too, will be denied the ability to continue
to golf at River View.

The River View Golf Course attracts an abundance of players of all ages. This is evidenced by
all the players that utilize the course, driving range and practice putting greens and chipping
areas daily throughout the year.

The Senior Club, which I am a member of, consists of 75 members and golfs there twice
weekly. We have players that drive from cities as far south as Carlsbad, Mission Viejo,
Huntington Beach, Irvine, and Fountain Valley. Along with surrounding areas such as Santa
Ana, Anaheim, Fullerton, Yorba LInda, Villa Park, Buena Park, etc. this course is ideal as it is
centrally located.

No matter whether the Winter or Summer months are in season the Course is always busy as
you will find many students and young players receiving lessons on putting, chipping and
driving.

The Creek that runs through the middle of the course is home to many birds, small mammals
and animals. This is one of the most picturesque courses as well as challenging.

For many of the Veterans, Friends of Veterans, Seniors, Grade School Children, High School
Students and regular voting residents this golf course offers amenities that are the most
affordable anywhere in Southern California. It is the only golf course in the area that is
affordable to all, is centrally located and a gem to golf on.

The atmosphere and friendly service the course offers is professional and friendly. You do not
feel unwelcome or trivial. All the personnel is friendly and makes you feel welcomed.

During our rounds you can experience not only seasonal ducks, coots and geese but also
parrots, hawks and all kinds of different species of birds that nest in the trees surrounding the
course. During early seasonal springtime we have seen tadpoles and small frogs make there
way across wet greens and fairways.

In the summertime when the creek remains dry it becomes a sanctuary for small sandpipers,
reptiles and small mammals. Coyotes can be spotted on the course occasionally looking for a
meal.

This course always remains busy whether Winter or Summer and we invite you to join us in a
round or two anytime so that you can experience what we experience twice a week, all year
