ORDINANCE NO. NS-51 AM~DING SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 3236 PRESCRIBING MAXI~ SPEED LIMIT ON GB~D AVENUE BETW~ FRUIT STREET AND 17TH STREET AND BY CORRECTING A SECTION NUMBER WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic survey of vehicular traffic moving on Grand Avenue between Fruit Street and 17th Street has been made and indicates that the prima facie speed l~m~t of 55 m~les per hour is more than is reason- able or safe and is the speed lfmit applicable under the Vehicle Code, and that such prima facie speed limit constitutes a present and continuing hazard to persons and property upon said portion of Grand Avenue; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l: That the Santa Aha Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new Section to be known and numbered as Section Number 3236 at the end of Chapter 2 of Article III of said Code to read as follows: "Section 3236. Speed Limtt on Grand Avenue. No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than 35 miles per hour on Grand Avenue between Fruit Street and 17th Street." SECTION 2: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 323~ which was added to said Code by Ordinance No. NS-21 to change the Section number to Section 3235 so that said Section number shall read as follows: "Section 3235. Speed Limit on North Flower Street. No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater than 35 miles per hour on North Flower Street between its intersection with Memory Lane and its intersection with Santa Ana Boulevard." SECTION 3: The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published within 15 days after its adoption, in one issue of the Santa Arm Independent, the official newspaper of the City. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final adoption.
