ORDINANCE NO. NS-67 ADDING NEW SECTION~ TO 'A'~ ~ANTA ANA <br />M1~NICIPAL CODE PROHIBITING DISCNARGE OF WEAPON~ IN THE CITY. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Santa Aha does ordain as follows: <br />SECTION 1. That two new sections, numbered 3510 and 3511, be and the <br />same are hereby added to Chapter 5, Article III, of the Santa Aha Municipal <br />Code to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "S~CTION 3510. DISCHARGE OF F~. <br /> <br /> "No person in the City, except in self-defense, shall discharge <br /> <br /> or cause or allow the discharge of any rifle, shotgun, pistol, re- <br /> volver or any other £iKearms, or any airgun, gas gun or any other <br /> weapon which emits a projectile as a result of pressure at the breech <br /> unless said person has first obtained permission in writing from the <br /> Chief of Police, and then only in com~liance with all the conditions <br /> contained in said permission. This Section does not apply to any <br /> peace officer in the discharge of his duty. <br /> <br /> "SECTION 3511. NUISANCE~: DESTRUCTION OF WEAPONS. <br /> <br /> ,,Any weapon used in violation of Section 3510 of this Code is <br /> <br /> hereby declared to be a nuisance and the same shall be taken from <br /> the person violating said Section 3510 and surrendered to the Chief <br /> of Police of the City, who $h~11 report possession of the same to the <br /> City Council on June first of each year. The City Council may order <br /> any of such weapons disposed of as provided for by Section 12028 of <br /> the California penal Code or may order any of such weapons to be sold <br /> at public auction by a City employee designated, and after such notice <br /> as the City Council may direct to be given and the proceeds therefrom <br /> to be deposited in the General Fund of the City." <br /> <br /> ~ECTION 2. The Clerk of the Council ~al 1 certify to the passage of <br />this Ordinance and shall cause the s~-~ to be published within 15 days after <br />its adoption in one issue of the Santa Ama Independent, the Official newspaper <br />of the City. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date <br /> <br />of its final adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
