ORDINANCE NO. NS-109 ABOLISHING EXISTING RESIDENCE <br />REQU!RENS~NT AND ESTABLISHING AN AREA IN '~tlCH CITY E~- <br />PLOiZEES ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THEIR RESIDENCE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service <br />Commission were duly adopted by said Commission, effective April 9, <br />1949, and were continued in effect after the adoption of the Char- <br />ter by the provisions of Section 10? thereof; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 2 of Rule XVII required that all employees <br />should reside in the City Limits of the City of Santa Ana; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Rule XVII of the Rules and Regu- <br />lations of the Civil Service Commission be and the same is hereby <br />repealed and rescinded. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. All employees of the City of Santa Ana shall main- <br />tain their residence and reside within the area bounded on the East <br />by Tustin Avenue and Newport Avenue, on the South by the State Free- <br />way Route, commonly k~own as the San Diego Freeway (formerly called <br />Sepulveda Freeway), on the West by Harbor Boulevard, and on the <br />North by State Highway Route VII - Ora - 179 - A, SA, commonly <br />ferred to as Garden Grove Freeway. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3- Present City employees, not living within said <br />area, are hereby granted seven months from the date of the adoption <br />of this Ordinance to establish residence within said area. Proba- <br />tionary employees are hereby granted six months from the date upon <br />which they acquire permanent status as employees of the City of <br />Santa Aha, within which to establish residence within said area. <br />All City employees referred to in this Section shall, after the ex- <br />piration of the period granted to them for establishment of resi- <br />dence, maintain their residence in said area and actuslly reside <br />therein. <br /> <br /> <br />
