ORDINANCE NO. NS-197 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY ASCERTAINED <br />TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDN~EE PALLING <br />DUE, FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1956-1957, FIXING THE <br />RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1956-1957, AND <br />DESIGNATING THE NUmaR OF CENTS ON EACH~'- -$100.00 FOR <br />THE VARIOUS FUNDS OF SAID CITY AND HEREBY LEVIED ON <br />THE WHOLE OF T~EE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, on the 28th day of December, 1914, the <br />City of Santa Aha did elect to avail itself of the provisions of <br />State law providing that assessment of property and collection of <br />taxes might be done for cities by the county in which the cities <br />were located; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 600 of the Charter <br />of the City of Santa Ana, the county system of assessment and tax <br />collection shall continue to be used unless otherwise provided by <br />Ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Auditor of the County of Orange filed his state- <br />ment in writing with the City of Santa Ana, showing the total value <br />of all property within the corporate limits for the fiscal year <br />19~6-57 as equalized and collected by the Board of Supervisors of <br />Orange County, and fixed the sum as shown by the assessment rolls <br />for said year at $81,357,230.00 exclusive of operative property <br />belonging to public utilities, and showing the total value of all <br />property belonging to public utilities and used as operative <br />property within the corporate limits of said City for said fiscal <br />year as tentatively determined by the Board of Equalization of the <br />State of California to be $8,142,770.00 which said amounts make <br />~ total assessed valuation for tax purposes within the City of <br />Santa Ana of the sum of $89,500,000.00 ; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUN~IL OF ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1.
