0~DINANCE NO. Ns-231 A~ENDING SECTIONS 7400 AND <br />7411 AND AODIN --- .i AND 7421.1 TO SAN A <br />ANA NUNICIPAL CODE REGULATING WATER SERVICE. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That Sections 7400 and 7411 of Chapter 4 of Art- <br />icle VII of the Sa~ ta Aha Municipal Code are hereby amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 7400. Connection Charges. <br /> <br /> Applications to have water services installed shall be <br /> made to the Department of Public Works. The City shall ~harge <br /> a~d collect in advance for each tap and attachment made with <br /> its system of water works as follows, to-wit: For each 3/4" <br /> service in new subdivisions, complete, $30.00; for each 3/4" <br /> service on paved streets, complete, $40.00; for each l" ser- <br /> vice, complete, $50.00. For all larger sizes of service and <br /> all fire lines, actual costs of labor, equipment, material, <br /> and ovemhead used for the service. <br /> <br /> All proposed and existing buildings within the City not <br /> under the Jurisdiction of the City's Building Code shall pro- <br /> vide a backflow preventer which shall be installed by the City <br /> at the expense of the property owner." <br /> <br /> "Section 7411. Fire Service. <br /> <br /> A fire line is a water line that shall be tm ed for <br />automatic fire-extinguishing system. No fire llne shall be <br />used for any purpose other than for the extinguishment of fire. <br />All fire lines shall be equipped with a Detector check valve. <br />With the exception of the Detector check no meter shall be in- <br />stalled on a fire line. All necessary maintenance and repairs <br />of fire lines from the water main to curb shall be paid for by <br />owner. Upon failure to pa~ said charges, water will be shut <br />off until such charge is paid." <br />SECTION 2. That a new section to be numbered Section 7411.1 is here- <br />by added to Chapter 4, Article VII of the Santa Ara ~nicipal Code, <br />immediately following Section 7411, in words and figures as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
