ORDINANCE NO. NS-322 AMENDING SECTION 3302 <br />OF ~E U~IE0~ BU-'~NG CODE <br /> <br />THE CITY OOUNCIL OF ~-LE CITY OP SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That Section 3302 of the Uniform Building Code, <br />1955 edition, adopted by Ordinance NS-I~7, is hereby amended to <br /> <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Sec. 3302. (a) Number of Persons. The number of persons <br />permitted in any building or portion thereof shall not exceed <br />those set forth in Table No. 33-A, except that where addi- <br />tional exit facilities are provided the occupancy load may be <br />increased in accordance with Section 3302 (b) and (c). <br /> <br /> (b) Number of Exits. Buildings, or portions thereof, hav- <br />ing an occup~t load of more tha~ 50 shall have not less than <br />two exits. <br /> <br /> Buildings, c~ portions thereof, having an occupant load <br />of 500 to 999 shall have not ~ ss than three exits. <br /> <br /> Buildings, c~ portions thereof having an occupant load of <br />1000 or more shall have not less than four exits. <br /> <br /> Basements or cellars used for other than service of the <br />building, shall have not less th~ ~wu exits, except that any <br />basement or cellar that is completely sprinklere~has at least <br />2-hour fire resistant walls and ceiling, contains no more than <br />2000 square feet of area excluding a room~ houa~only mechan- <br />ical equipment for service to the building, has no area which <br />is more ~an 50 feet from the exit, and is not used as a regu- <br />lar work area for employees, or for retail sales, may have one <br />exit only." <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
