ORDINANCE NO. NS-325 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA FIRE <br />CODE ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 864 <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES 0~DAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the Fire Code of the City of Santa Ana adopted <br /> <br />by Ordinance No. 864 is hereby amended by repealing and deleting <br /> <br />Paragraphs 14 and 15 of Section 6 of Article VI of said Fire Code. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />by repealing Section 3121.4 and Section 3121.5 of Part 2, Chapter 1 <br /> <br />of Article III, and by re-enacting said two sections in words and <br /> <br />figures as follows: <br /> <br />"SECTION 3121.4. Same. Automatic Dispensing Devices. <br /> <br /> The installation and use of coin operated dispensing devices <br />for flammable liquids is prohibited. <br /> <br /> The dispensing of Class I fl-mmable liquids into the fuel <br />tank of a vehicle or into a container shall at all times be <br />under the control of a competent person. The use of any de- <br />vice which permits the dispensing of Class I flammable liquids <br />when the hand of the operator of the discharging nozzle is re- <br />moved from the nozzle control lever is hereby forbidden except <br />when using an automatic nozzle as provided in Section 3121.5.~ <br /> <br />"SECTION 3121.5. Same. Automatic Hose Nozzle Valves With <br /> Latch-Open Devices. <br /> <br /> In lieu of being held open by ~and, a nozzle that is approv- <br />ed by ~Ge Chief of the Fire Department, for dispensing Class I <br />flammable liquid into the fuel tank of a vehicle may be used. <br /> <br /> Such nozzle shall have the latch-open device as an integral <br />part of t he assembly and shall shut off the liquid reliably <br />and positively when the gasoline tank is filled, when it falls <br />from the filling neck of an automobile tank, when it is subject <br />to rough usage such as dropping or lack of proper lubrication, <br />or when an automobile is driven away while ~he nozzle is still <br />in the tank. A competent attendant shall be not more than l0 <br />feet from the vehicle being filled by such an approved nozzle." <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
