ORDINANCE NO. NS-326 ADDING A NEW SECTION TO TH~ CIVIL <br />SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> <br />~HEREAS, heretofore by Ordinance No. NS-277 a new set of Rules <br /> <br />and Regulations were adopted to regulate the rights, privileges, <br /> <br />duties s~d obligations of the employees of the City of Santa Aha, <br /> <br />and thereafter on Ma~ 28th, 1958, after due hea~ing, on notice as <br /> <br />required by law, the Personnel Board adopted a Resolution recommend- <br /> <br />ing to the City Council an amendment to said Rules and Regulations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF TME CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br /> <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of Article II of the Sa~ ta Ana Mun- <br /> <br />icipal Code, the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City, is <br /> <br />hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section immediately following <br />Section 2256, in words and figures as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 2256.1. Absence, Authorized. <br /> <br /> Absence without pay not to exceed five (5) consecutive <br />working days may be a~thorized by an employee's department <br />head. Absence without pay not to exceed fifteen (15) <br />calendar days may be authorized by the department head <br />with the approval of the City Manager. Such absences may <br />be authorized only if in the Judgment of the department <br />head they serve the best interest of the City." <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
