ORDINANCE NO. NS-~66 DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS <br />OF THE RETURNS OF THE ELECTION IN THE TERRITORY KNOWN AS <br />"SULLIVAN AND EDINGEH ANNEX" AND APPROVING THE ANNEXATION <br />OF SAID TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore a petition was presented to the City Council <br />requesting that certain territory hereinbelow described be annexed to <br />the City of Santa Aha under the provisions of the Annexation Act of <br />1913, and the City Council on October 6, 1958 adopted Resolution No. <br />~, expressing the consent of said Council to the commencement of <br />proceedings under said Act; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thereafter a notice of intention to circulate petition <br />for said annexation was regularly published, and on the 17th day of <br />October, 1958, the City Council adopted Resolution No. %8-259, ac- <br />knowledging receipt of a copy of said notice of intention to circu- <br />late petition, a copy of the statement accompanying said notice, and <br />an affidavit of publication thereof, and approving the circulation <br />of petition for annexation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thereafter a petition was regularly circulated and <br />filed with said City Council, representing more than one-fourth of <br />the qualified electors residing within said territory, and on the <br />first day of December, 1958 said City Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 58-297, declaring intention to call special municipal election <br />on the question of annexation, and fixed a day and hour for the fil- <br />ing and hearing of protests to said election on the part of owners <br />of property within said territory; and <br /> <br /> W/iEREAS, at 8:00 P.M. on the 29th day of December, 1958, the <br />day and hour so fixed, no protests had been filed and no person was <br />there present to file any written protest against said annexation, <br />and the City Council continued said hearing to 5:00 P.M. on January <br />8, 1959, at which day and hour no protests had been filed, and the <br />City Council adgpted Resolution No. 59-15 calling a special annexa- <br />tion election to be held in said territory on the 10th day of March, <br />1959, and thereafter on January 19, 1959, adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-359 calling, ordering and providing for said election. <br /> <br /> <br />
