ORDINANCE NO. ~$'37~ AMENDING SECTION 9112.7 OF THE <br />SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO LIBERALIZE PARKING REQUIF~- <br />M~TS IN A DISTRICT MODIFIED BY TPiE ADDITION OF -PK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, heretofore the Planning Commission gave notice of and <br /> <br />duly held a public hearing on a proposal to amend Section 9112.7 of <br /> <br />the S~ta Aha Municipal Code, a portion of the zoning regulations of <br /> <br />the City, and, after hearing, recommended to the City Council that <br /> <br />said language be amended as set forth in said notice to liberalize <br /> <br />the parking requirements in a district modified by the addition of <br /> <br />-PK, to delete from the requirements the requirement that the man- <br /> <br />euvering area be excluded from the one-third total area reserved ex- <br /> <br />clusively for parking; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on <br /> <br />the question of such amendment on the 20th day of April, 1959, md <br /> <br />after hearing determined that said~ amendment should be made; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br /> <br />0RDAI N AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 9112.7 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 9112.7 -PK (District ~arking Requirement). <br /> <br /> Any District or any part thereof regulating the use of <br />land established under this Part, may be modified at the time <br />the ~ning is first established or by amendment, by adding to <br />the District designation, "-PK" which shall make no altera- <br />tion in the uses per~mitted under the regular District Classi- <br />fication excepting that: In any District modified by being <br />combined with -PK (District Parking Requirement) each use <br />shall be required to maintain a minimum of one-third of the <br />total land space involved in such use for off-street parking, <br />and no use shall be altered, modified or enlarged so as to <br />reduce the net off-street parking area maintained in conjunc- <br />tion with such use 'below one-third of said total land area, <br />nor shall any commercial or professional use be structurally <br />enlarged so as to create an additional off-street parking de- <br />mand in that area unless all of the demands of the District <br />Parking Requirement are complied ~th. <br /> <br /> Any person erecting a residence in a District modified by <br />being combined with -PK, after the date of adoption of this <br />Ordinsnce, shall be required to provide and retain a minimum <br />of one-third of the total land space involved in such resid- <br />ential use available for off-street parking, except that such <br />area need not meet the requirements of paving, blacktopping <br />or fencing. Any residenti~ use in a District modified by <br />being combined with -PK, whether or not such use existed prior <br />to the -PK requirement, sh~ll not be converted to a commercial <br />or professional use unless and until all dem~ds of the Dis- <br />tract Parking Require~nent are complied with. <br /> <br /> <br />
