ORDINANCE NO. NS-395 OF TEE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br /> FIXING T~E AMOU--~MONEY ASCERTAINED TO CARRY ON THE <br /> VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, TO PAY TEE <br /> ~ON~E~ INDEBTEDNESS FALLING DUE, FOR TEE CURRENT YEAR 1959- <br /> i9~QF~XING THE RATE OF TAXATION F0H THE CURRENT ~ 1959- <br /> 1960, AND DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF CENTS ON EACH $100.00 <br /> FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS OF SAID CITY A~D HEREBY LEVIED ON <br /> T~E WHOLE OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY <br /> <br /> WHEREA~, heretofore, on the 28th day of December, 1914, the City <br />of Santa Aha did elect to avail itself of the provisions of State law <br />providing that assessment of property and collection of taxes might be <br />done for cities by the county in which the cities were located; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 600 of the Charter of <br /> <br />the City of Santa Aha, the county system of assessment and tax collec- <br />tion shall continue to be used unless otherwise provided by Ordinance; <br />and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the Auditor of the County of Orange filed his statement <br />in writing with the City of Santa Aha, showing the total value of all <br />property within the corporate limits for the fiscal year 1959-60 as <br />equalimed and collected by the Board of Supervisors of Orauge County, <br />and fixed the sum as shown by the assessment rolls for said year at <br />$117,247,580.00, exclusive of operative property belonging to public <br />utilities, and showing the total value of all property belonging to <br />public utilities and used as operative property within the corporate <br />limits of said City for said fiscal year as tentatively determined by <br />the Board of Equalization of the State of California to be $12,549,920.00, <br />which said amounts make a total assessed valuation for tax purposes <br />within the City of Santa Aha of the sum of $129,797,500.00. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF gE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOL~OW$: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That the total valuation of the taxable property of <br />the City of Santa Ana of $129,797,500.00 shall be used as a basis for <br />the levy of the taxes of the City of Santa Ana, at the same time and <br />in the same manner in which County levies are made and collected. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby levy a tax for the fis- <br />cal year beginning July l, 1959 and ending June 30, 1960 for the purpose <br /> <br /> <br />
