SECTION 2. The proposition to be presented to the electors and to be printed upon the ballots used at said election shall be in the following words: Shall the territory designated and ( known as "South Sas ts Aha Annex No. ( YES , ) 2" be annexed to the City of Santa ( NO ' ) &ua? The precinct boards and two judges for each polling place. shall consist of one inspector The precincts shall be those determined by the City Council by Resolution, and sh~l consist of one or more regular voting precincts or portions thereof, and the voting place or places shall be such as is commonly used for voting within the territory, if there be any such place or places within the territory herein described. The election officers shall be thee nmned in the "NOTICE OF ELECTTON OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES" to be declared as to form by the City Council. The Clerk of the Council ~ hereby authorized to find and appoint substitutes for any election officer named who is unable or unwilling to act. SECTION 4. Precinct officers shall receive the following com- pensation: Each inspector, $21.00, aud each judge, ~18.00, for their work as such officers, and owners of privately owned polling places shall receive the sum of ~9.00 for the use of each polling place. SEC~TION ~. Said election shall be held and conducted in accord- ance with the statutes regulating municipal elections, the Election Code of the State of California, insofar as the same is applicable to this election, and the Annexation Act of 1913. The polls shall be open from ? A.M. until 7 P.M. on the day of said election and the polls shall be closed at 7 P.M. SECTION 6. The C~rk of the Couucil shall cause a NOTICE OF ELECTION and a NOTICE OF ELECTION OFFICERE ~TD POLLING PLACES to be published once each ~veek for four weeks prior to April 26, 1960, in a newspaper of general circulation p~inted and published outside the City of Santa Ana, but in the County of Orange. -7-
