NS-454 REGULATING AND LICENSING <br />TAXICABS, MOTOR BUSES, AMBULANCES, AND THE DRIVERS <br />THEREOF <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F SANTA ANA DOES <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. %1~at <br /> <br />Santa Aha Municipal Code <br /> <br />ORDAIN AS <br /> <br />Part 8 of Chapter 3, Article VI, of the <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "PART 8 - Ambulances, Motor Buses and Taxicabs. <br /> <br /> "Section 6380. Definitions. The following words and phrases <br />when used in this Part have the meanings set forth herein: <br /> <br /> (a) AMBULANCE is any privately owned vehicle equipped <br />or used for transporting the wounded, injured, sick or dead, and <br />shall include, but not be limited to, emergency vehicles used for <br />such purposes. <br /> <br /> (b) CERTIFICATE means a certificate of public convenience <br />and necessity issued by the City authorizing the holder thereof to <br />conduct an ambulance, motor bus or taxicab business in the City. <br /> <br /> (c) CRUISING means the driving of a taxicab on the <br />streets or public places of t~e City in search of or soliciting pros- <br />pective passengers for hire. <br /> <br /> (d) DRIVER means the person in actual charge or control <br />of any ambulance, motor bus or taxicab as the driver thereof. <br /> <br /> (e) MANIFEST means a daily record p~epared by the driver <br />or the management office of all trips made by any ambulance or taxi- <br />cab showing the date and place of origin, destination, number of <br />passengers, and the amount of the charge to each passenger. <br /> <br /> (f) MOTOR BUS includes every motor vehicle used in the <br />business of carrying passengers for hire which receives and dis- <br />charges passengers along t he fixed route traversed by it, but shall <br />not include a taxicab, sigatseers, or hotel bus, or any inter-City <br />bus regulated by the Public Utilities Commission. <br /> <br /> (g) OWEEH includes every person, corporation, or other <br />business organization controling any ambulance, motor bus or taxicab <br />Within the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
