ORDINANCE NO. NS-531 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY ASCERTAINED TO CARRY ON THE <br />VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY, AND TO PAY THE BONDED <br />INDEBTEDNESS FALLING DUE, FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1961-1962, <br />FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR SAID CURRENT YEAR, AND <br />DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF CENTS ON EACH $100.00 FOR THE <br />VARIOUS FUNDS OF SAID CITY AND HEREBY LEVIED ON THE WHOLE <br />OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, on the 28th day of December, 1914, the City <br />of Santa Ana did elect to avail itself of the provisions of State law <br />providing that assessment of property and collection of taxes mkght be <br />done for cities by the county in which the cities were located; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 600 of the Charter of <br />the City of Santa Ana, the county system of assessment and tax collection <br />shall continue to be used unless otherwise provided by Ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Auditor of the County of Orange filed his statement <br />in writing with the City of Santa Ana, showing the total value of all <br />property within the corporate limits for the fiscal year 1961-1962 as <br />equalized and collected by the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, and <br />fixed the sum as shown by the assessment rolls for said year at <br />$157,943,620.00, exclusive of operative property belonging to public <br />utilities, and ~e~iag the total value of all property belonging to public <br />utilities and used as operative property within the corporate limits of <br />said City for said fiscal year as tentatively determined by the Board of <br />Equalization of the State of California to be $16,810,490.00, which said <br />amounts make a total assessed valuation for tax purposes within the City <br />of Santa Ana of the sum of $174,754,110.00. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That the total valuation of the taxable property of <br />the City of Santa Aha of $174,754,110.00 shall be used as a basis for the <br />levy of the taxes of said City at the same time and in the same manner in <br />which County of Orange levies are made and collected. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2.
