ORDINANCE NO. ~ ESTABLISHING THE R-4 (SUBURBAN <br />APARTMENT) DISTRICT; PROVIDING REGULATIONS APPLICABLE <br />THERETO AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS 9230.120, 9230.121, <br />9230.122, 9230.123, 9230.124, 9230.125, 9230.126, <br />9230.127, 9230.128, 9230.129, 9230.130, 9230.132, <br />9230.133 AND 9230.134 TO PART 3 OF CHAPTER 2 OF <br />ARTICLE IX OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has duly held a public hearing <br />on notice concerning proposed additions to the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code (which said additions are to be to those Sections of said Code <br />known as the "Zoning Ordinance of 1960"); said proposed additions <br />provide for the establishment of an R-4 (Suburban Apartment) District <br />together with regulations and requirements therefore; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the adoption <br />of said additions to the Santa Ana Municipal Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on <br />notice and does now find that the public necessity, convenience and <br />general welfare require the adoption of the following additions to <br />said code. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br /> <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Sections 9230.120, 9230.121, 9230.122, 9230.123, <br /> <br />9230.124, 9230.125, 9230.126, 9230.127, 9230.128, 9230.129, 9230.130, <br /> <br />9230.132, 9230.133 and 9230.134 of Part 3 of Chapter 2 of Article IX <br /> <br />of the Santa Ana Municipal Code are hereby enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 9230.120. R 4 (Suburban Apartment District). <br /> <br />SECTION 9230.121. P~rpose. <br /> <br /> The R 4, Suburban Apartment District, is hereby authorized to <br />provide for garden apartment development, regulated so as to cover a <br />minimum of ground area and provide a maximum of open space. This zone <br />will provide most of the desirable residential characteristics found <br />in single family residence areas. <br /> <br />SECTION 9230.122. Uses Permitted. <br /> <br /> (a) Bungalow courts. <br /> (b) Apartment houses. <br /> (c) One (1) temporary, single faced, unlighted sign not <br />exceeding one hundred (100) square feet in area pertaining only to <br />the sale or lease of buildings within the development. Said sign <br />shall be permitted to remain for a period not to exceed one (1) year <br />from the date of final inspection, by the Santa Ana Department of <br />Building Safety, of the first dwelling unit within the development. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
