ORDINANCE NO. NS-~47 REGULATING THE OPERATION <br />OF FOOD VENDING AND DELIVERY TRUCKS AND WAGONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the population of the City has rapidly increased <br />during the past ten years, and the City has an established and <br />continuing program of street widening, improvement and extension <br />which is unable to maintain the physical street and highway system <br />of the City in a condition to afford vehicular movement without <br />restrictions or interference due to the large number of vehicles upon <br />the streets of the City and due to the increased number of vehicles <br />parked on the streets of the City, which said ~arked vehicles use one <br />traffic lane for parking purposes: and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the streets of the City have the primary purpose of <br />affording moving traffic an area for use in getting from place to <br />place and to permit a secondary use of less importance, the parking <br />and temporary storage of vehicles on the highest cost parking area <br />existing in the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has come to the Council's attention that there is <br />presently violation of our minimum parking regulations of trucks and <br />trailers on the streets during the night time and new business ventures <br />being conducted from trucks which are permanently parked on the street <br />for long periods for the purpose of selling foods and drinks upon the <br />streets of the City and not for the purpose of delivery to the home <br />or business of the consumer. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of Article III of the Santa Aha <br />Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section <br />numbered 3263 in words and figures as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 3263. Regulating On Street Parking of Food Vendinq Trucks. <br /> <br /> No person shall park, stop or stand any wagon, cart or <br /> vehicle upon any part of any street of the City and leave <br /> the same so stopped, parked or standing in any one location <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
