ORDINANCE NS-708 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 3268.2 <br />AND 3312, AND ADDING SECTION 3312.13 TO <br />P~EGULATE PARKING ON CITY OWNED PARKING LOTS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 3268.2 of the Santa Aha Municipal <br />Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 3268.2. ~ame. Parking on City Property. <br /> Whenever the Director Of Public Works shall determine <br />that parking or standing of vehicles on City property be <br />prohibited, limited or restricted, the Director of Public <br />Works shall have the power and authority to order signs <br />to be erected or posted indicating that the parking of <br />vehicles is thus prohibited, limited or restricted. When <br />signs authorized by the provisions of this Section are in <br />place, giving notice thereof, no person shall park or <br />stand a vehicle contrary to the directions of such signs, <br />and any vehicle parked in violation of such signs may be <br />towed to a public storage garage at the expense of the <br />owner of such vehicle; or the Police Department may, and <br />they are hereby granted authority to, issue a citation in <br />the usual form and manner for any violation of the <br />prohibition, limitation or restriction indicated by such <br />signs or for any violation of the provisions of this <br />Part 6 of Chapter 2 of Article III of the Santa Aha <br />Municipal Code. Any parking, movement or ranking of <br />any vehicle on any City owned parking lot, whether open <br />to the public or restricted to certain classes of vehicles, <br />which is in violation of the language of Sections 3312.1½, <br />3312.2, 3312.3, 3312.4, 3312.5, 3312.6, 3312.7, 3312.8, <br />3312.9, 3312.12 or 3312.12½ is declared to be in violation <br />of this Part and shall be treated as though the language <br />of said Sections were set forth in full hereinafter. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Section 3312. of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 3312. Parking Lots. ReGulations of Traffic. <br /> The Council may, by resolution, declare the necessity <br />for the use of parking meters on any municipally owned <br />parking lot, may fix and determine traffic patterns for <br />the move~aent of traffic on such municipally owned parking <br />lot and governing the ingress and egress thereto and <br />therefrom, and when the Council regularly passes and <br />adopts any resolution for any of said purposes the same <br />shall control the use of the area affected thereby, and <br />said regulations may be applied to lots open to public <br />use or to lots restricted to certain classes of vehicles <br />and to certain hours and days. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That a new Section to be numbered 3312.13 is <br />hereby added to the Santa Aha Municipal Code immediately following <br />Section 3312.12% in words and figures as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 3312.13. Same. <br /> Move any vehicle onto or move any vehicle off from <br />any municipally owned parking lot in any manner so as to <br />drive over the curb, curb line or sidewalk, except in a <br />driveway area or between curb returns. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
