ORDINANCE NS-927 ACCEPTING THE REQUIREMENTS <br />OF SECTION 13522 OF THE PENAL CODE RELATING <br />TO TPJ~INING OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana trains its police officers to <br />standards higher than those established by the State of California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is thereby eligible to participate <br />in the State's reimbursement program, provided only that an appropriate <br />ordinance is passed expressing the intent of the City of Santa Ana to <br />meet the standards established by virtue of §13522 of the Penal Code; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Santa Ana to participate <br />in the established reimbursement program; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That for the purpose of qualifying the City of Santa <br />Ana to receive its proper share of allocations from the State of Cali- <br />fornia pursuant to the Peace Officer Standards and Training program, <br />inasmuch as the City of Santa Ana is qualified to participate in these <br />funds which originate partially in the City except for the formality <br />of adopting an ordinance, the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />by adding Part 5 to Chapter 4 of Article II thereof to read in words <br />and figures as follows: <br /> <br />Part 5 - Peace Officer Standards and Training <br /> <br />SECTION 2460. Desire to Participate <br /> <br /> The City of Santa Ana declares that it desires to <br />qualify to receive aid from the State of California <br />under the provisions of Chapter 1 of Title 4, Part 4 <br />of the California Penal Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 2461. Adherence to Standards <br /> <br /> Pursuant to Section 13522 of said Chapter 1, the <br />City of Santa Ana, while receiving aid from the State <br />of California pursuant to said Chapter 1, will adhere <br />to the standards for recruitment and training established <br />by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards <br />and Training. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />at its regular meeting held on the <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />15th day of July, 1968. <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> I, DORIS M.
