any such person is the bona fide owner of any such dwelling <br />and accessory buildings and quarters, and that the same are <br />occupied by or designed to be occupied by said owner, and that <br />said single family dwelling is the only dwelling on the lot <br />or property, and provided that said owner is determined by <br />the Administrative Authority to be qualified and shall <br />personally perform all labor in connection therewith. <br /> <br />SECTION 8806. General Installation Requirements. <br /> Section 101 is amended by adding subsections (e), (f), (g), <br />and (h) to read as follows: <br /> <br /> (e) Appliances generating a glow, spark or flame capable <br /> of igniting flammable vapors may be installed in a residential <br /> garage provided the pilots and burners or heating elements and <br /> switches are at least twenty-four (24) inches above the floor <br /> level. <br /> (f) Where such appliances installed within a garage are <br /> enclosed in a separate approved compartment having access only <br /> from outside of the garage, such appliances may be installed <br /> at floor level provided the required combustion air is also <br /> taken from the exterior of the garage. Fuel burning appliances <br /> having sealed combustion chambers need not be elevated. <br /> (g) Ail appliances installed in areas where they may be <br /> subjected to mechanical damage shall be suitably guarded <br /> against such damage by being installed behind adequate barriers <br /> or by being elevated or located out of the normal path of a <br /> vehicle using any such garage. <br /> (h) Electrical controls and wiring shall be installed in <br /> accordance with the Electrical Code of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />SECTION 8807. Correction of. Errors. <br /> Subsection 105(b) is amended to read as follows: <br /> (b) Correction of Errors. <br /> The approval of plans and specifications shall not <br /> prevent the Administrative Authority from thereafter requiring <br /> the correction of errors in said plans and specifications or <br /> from preventing construction operations being carried on <br /> thereunder when in violation of this Code or of any other <br /> pertinent ordinance or from revoking any certificate of <br /> approval when issued in error. <br /> <br />SECTION 8808. Violations and Penalties. <br /> Section 110 is amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 110 - Violations and Penalties. <br /> Any person violating any of the provisions of this Code <br /> shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. Each separate day <br /> or any portion thereof shall constitute a separate offense, <br /> and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable as herein <br /> provided. <br /> <br />SECTION 8809. Definitions. <br /> Section 202 is amended by adding the following definitions: <br /> <br /> ABSORPTION SYSTEM - Ail of that equipment intended or <br />installed for the purpose of heating or cooling air by an <br />absorption unit, either by direct or indirect means, and <br />discharging such air into any room or space. <br /> <br />-23- <br /> <br /> <br />
