SECTION 8822. Fuel Oil and Equipment. <br /> Section G.1.5 of Appendix G is amended by adding a second <br />paragraph to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Where a shutoff is installed in the discharge line of an oil <br /> pump not an integral part of a burner a pressure relief valve <br /> shall be connected into the discharge line between the pump and <br /> the shutoff valve and arranged to return surplus oil to the <br /> supply tank or to bypass it around the pump, unless the pump <br /> includes an internal bypass. <br /> <br />SECTION 8822.1. Fuel Oil and Equipment. <br /> Section G.1.6 of Appendix G is amended by adding subsection (c) <br />to read as follows: <br /> (c) After installation and before an underground tank is <br /> covered, tests shall be made for leaks. Piping shall be tested <br /> hydrostatically, or with equivalent air pressure at not less <br /> than 1½ times the maximum working pressure but not less than <br /> five (5) pounds per square inch at the highest point of the <br /> system. The test shall be made so as not to impose a pressure <br /> of more than ten (10) pounds per square inch on the tank. <br /> Instead of a pressure test, suction lines may be tested under a <br /> vacuum of not less than twenty (20) inches of mercury. <br /> When the vertical length of the fill and vent pipes is such <br /> that when filled with liquid the static head imposed exceeds <br /> ten (10) psig., the tank and related piping shall be tested <br /> hydrostatically to a pressure equal to the static head thus <br /> imposed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall take effect thirty days from <br />and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the _Q_93~_ day of AD~] , 1965. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, DORIS M.
