ORDINANCE NS-816 AMENDING THE SANTA ANAMUNICIPAL
<br />CODE BY REPEALING SECTIONS 4247. AND 4248. AND
<br />ADDING SECTIONS 4247., 4247.1., AND 4247.2.
<br />REGULATING THE USE AND POSSESSION OF MODEL GLUE
<br />
<br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
<br />FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br /> SECTION 1: That Section 4247. of the Santa Ana Municipal
<br />Code regulating operation of punch boards and Section 4248. regu-
<br />lating cigars and cigarettes are hereby repealed.
<br />
<br /> SECTION 2: That new sections to be numbered 4247., 4247.1.,
<br />and 4247.2. are hereby added to Part 4, Chapter 2, Article IV of the
<br />Santa Ana Municipal Code to read in words and figures as follows:
<br />
<br />Section 4247. Definition.
<br /> MODEL GLUE as used in this Part shall mean any glue or cement
<br />of the type c~unonly used in the building of model airplanes,
<br />boats, and automobiles, containing toluene, acetone, or other
<br />solvent or chemical having the property of releasing toxic vapors.
<br />
<br />Section 4247.1. Inhalation_of Fumes Prohibited.
<br />
<br /> NO person shall, for the purpose of causing a condition of
<br />intoxication, euphoria, excitement, exhilaration, stupefaction,
<br />or dulling of the senses or nervous system, intentionally smell
<br />or inhale the fumes from any model glue or any other intoxicating,
<br />stupefying, exhilarating or anesthetic drug, chemical, or
<br />substance; provided, however, that this Section shall not apply
<br />to the inhalation of any anesthesia for medical or dental purposes.
<br />
<br />Section 4247.2. Certain Possession Prohibited.
<br />
<br /> No person shall, for the purpose of violating or aiding another
<br />to violate any provision of this Part, intentionally possess,
<br />transfer possession, or receive possession of any model glue or
<br />other intoxicating, stupefying, exhilarating, or anesthetic drug,
<br />chemical, or substance.
<br />
<br /> SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
<br />days from and after the date of its adoption.
<br />
