SECTION 8441.4 SAME. INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT DEFINED. <br /> <br /> Any building site consisting of two or more contiguous parcels, <br />whereon any group of two or more businesses, by design, relate <br />to one another physically, such as are commonly denominated <br />"shopping centers", irrespective of the number of parcels or <br />the ownership thereof, which is approved for development by <br />building plan approval procedure. <br /> <br />S~CTION 8441.5 SAME. EXCEPTION. <br /> <br /> The provisions of Section 8441 shall not apply to accessory <br />signs within Five hundred feet (500') of a freeway which are <br />designed to be viewed primarily from a freeway, provided such <br />signs shall conform to the following standards: <br /> <br />One accessory sign shall be permitted for each <br />integrated development, said sign to relate to the <br />development as a whole; or for each parcel of record <br />if not integrated as defined in Section 8441.4 of <br />this Code. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Signs located on properties having frontage on a <br />freeway shall be limited in area to 1 sq. ft. of <br />sign for each lineal foot of freeway frontage. The <br />maximum allowable area for any one sign shall be <br />250 sq. ft. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Free-standing signs shall be limited to a height <br />of 35' Signs may be placed upon buildings provided <br />they do not extend more than 12' feet above the highest <br />point of the building upon which they are placed, or <br />35 feet above grade, whichever is higher. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Signs shall not consist of any flashing, blinking, <br />fluctuating, or otherwise animated light. Signs <br />which display, alternately, the time of day and the <br />current temperature shall not be prohibited by this <br />subsection. <br /> <br />(e) Signs shall have no mechanical or moving parts. <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />This exception shall not be construed to permit any <br />sign for which compensation or consideration is paid <br />or given by another to the owner or occupant of the <br />building or premises for permission to locate or <br />maintain such sign. <br /> <br />SECTION 8441.5A SABLE. SUBDIVISION SIGN EXCEPTION. <br /> <br /> The provisions of Section 8441 shall not prohibit the granting <br />of a Variance to allow one advertising sign or structure to <br />advertise a subdivision when all of the following conditions have <br />been complied with: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />That a Variance has been properly applied for requesting <br />the location of such sign giving the exact dimensions of <br />the sign, the name and address of the owner of the land <br />upon which the sign is proposed to be located, and the <br />Tract number and approximate exterior boundaries of the <br />subdivision the sign is to advertise; <br /> <br />(b) That the sign allowed by Variance does not exceed the <br /> external dimensions of 10' x 20' over all; <br /> <br /> <br />
