ORDINANCE NS-978 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL <br />CODE BY REPEALING SECTION 3291 OF PART 9, CHAPTER 2, <br />ARTICLE III, RELATING TO RAILWAY CROSSINGS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 3291 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code provides <br />that railway trains or railway cars be operated in such a manner as <br />not to prevent the use of any street for the purpose of travel for a <br />period of time longer than five (5) minutes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission of the State of <br />California has adopted its Resolution S-1278 which provides a ten <br />(10) minute limitation on the blocking of a public street by a rail- <br />way vehicle, by which provision it pre-empts our local ordinance; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 3291 of Part 9, Chapter 2, Article <br />III of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of August, 1969. <br /> <br />ATTE ST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br />SS <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
