ORDINANCE NS-980 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL <br />CODE BY ADDING CHAPTER 7 TO ARTICLE V THEREOF <br />CONCERNING REGULATION OF MOBILE X-RAY UNITS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety it is deemed <br />desirable to regulate mobile x-ray units within the City of Santa <br />Ana; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding Chapter 7 to_Article V thereof to read in words <br />and figures, as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 7 - MOBILE X-RAY UNITS <br /> <br />Section 5700. Title. <br /> <br /> This Chapter shall be known and may be cited as the <br />X-ray Units Regulations". <br /> <br />"Mobile <br /> <br />Section 5701. Enforcement and Administration. <br /> <br /> The County of Orange and all of its offices, employees, <br />agents are hereby authorized and empowered to enforce and <br />administer the provisions of this Chapter within the city. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Section 5702. Definitions. <br /> As used in this Chapter, unless it is apparent from the <br />context that a different meaning is intended, <br /> <br /> (a) MOBILE X-RAY UNIT shall mean any x-ray generator which <br />is, or can be, used for the purpose of making medical diagnostic <br />photoflurographic films of persons, and which is installed in or <br />upon a motor vehicle or trailer so that it may be transported <br />from place to place. <br /> <br /> (b) MOBILE X-RAY OPERATOR shall mean any person, or other <br />entity, who owns or legally possesses, and operates, a mobile <br />X-ray unit. <br /> <br />Section 5703. Regulations: Scope. <br /> Ail mobile X-ray units shall comply with the requirements of <br />The Radiation Control Law, Division 20, Chapter 7.6 of the Health <br />and Safety Code of the State of california, together with regula- <br />tions enacted pursuant thereto. <br /> <br />Section 5704. Regulations: Investigation. <br /> Any person or entity desiring to operate a mobile X-ray unit <br />within the City of Santa Ana shall make application to the <br />Finance Department of the City on forms prescribed by the Finance <br />Director for issuance of a license. The Finance Director shall <br />cause to be conducted an investigation of said applicant for a <br />license to determine, among other things, the following items of <br />information: <br /> (a) Whether or not said unit has a valid state registration <br />as provided by Division 20, Chapter 7.6, california Health and <br />Safety Code; <br /> <br /> (b) Whether or not said applicant has complied with applicable <br />laws, ordinances, and regulations, including those relating to <br />the reporting to the Health Officer of abnormal X-ray findings <br />pursuant to regulations of the State Department of Public Health; <br /> (c) Whether the proper public notices, as required by state <br />law, regulations enacted pursuant thereto, and local ordinances, <br />have been posted in or upon the mobile unit; <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
