ORDINANCE NS-982 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL <br />CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 3823 OF PART 2, CHARTER <br />8, ARTICLE III THEREOF RELATING TO HANDBILLS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 3823 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />contains provisions which are now felt to be too restrictive upon <br />private enterprise, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is desired that said section be made less <br />restrictive, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 3823 of Part 2, Chapter 8, Article <br />III of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 3823. Same. Throwinq Handbills Prohibited. <br /> <br /> No person shall deposit, place, throw, scatter or <br />cast any handbill, dodger, circular, booklet, paper, <br />or other printed matter or advertising in the y~ard <br />or grounds of any building, or on any porch, doorstep, <br />vestibule, or in any public hallway of any building <br />when said building is not in the possession or under <br />the control of the person so doing, or in any public <br />street or place, or upon any vacant real property in <br />the City. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty <br />days from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~ day of September, 1969. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MA~OR <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
