ORDINANCE NS-1006 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CERTAIN CODES K~OWN AS THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1967 EDITION, VOLUME I; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1967 EDITION, STANDARDS; INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL OFFICIALS UNIFORM PLUMBING C~DE; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1967 EDITION, VOLUME V, STGNS,~ ~NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1968; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, VOLUME III - HOUSING; AND THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1967 EDITION; REPEALING AND READOPTING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO AMEND AND ADD TO THE CODES HEREBY ADOPTED THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending certain portions of Chapter 8 thereof to effect the adoption by reference the Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, volume I; Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, Standards; Inter- national Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Uniform Plumbing Code; Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, Volume V, Signs; National Electrical Code, 1968; u~tfo~m BU~dt~g C~, Volume III - Housing; and the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition; Repealing and readopting certain portions of Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code to amend and add to the codes hereby adopted. SECTION 2: That Section 8-100 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 8-100. Application Processing and Plan Checking Fees. Section 303(b) of the Building Code, 1967 Edition, is amended to read as follows: Application processing and plan checking fees: Prior to issuing a building permit, an application processing and plan checking fee equal to one-half of the building permit fee shall be paid to the building official. When a building permit is not issued within 90 days of the application for a permit, such fee shall be paid upon demand from the Building Official. EXCEPTION: When multiple plans for residences or apart- ments are submitted at one time, such fee shall be paid only for each different floor plan plus $5.00 for each repetition of the same floor plan. SECTION 3: That Section 8-120 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows: Sec. 8-120. Court Walls. The first paragraph of Section 504(c) of the Building Code, 1967 Edition, is amended to read as follows: (c) Buildings on same property and buildings containing courts. For the purpose of determining the required wall and opening protection, buildings ~n~the same property and court walls of buildings over one story in height shall be assumed to have a property line between them. SECTION 4: That Section 8-128 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows: Sec. 8-128. Automatic Fire-extin~uishinq Systems. That Section 506(c) of the Building Code, 1967 amended to read as follows: (c) Edition, is Automatic Fire-extinguishing Systems. The area specified in Section 505 may be tripled in one-story buildings and doubled in buildings of more than one story if the building is provided with an approved automatic fire-ext%~guishing system throughout.
