SECTION 25: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-560 thereto to read as follows: sec~ 8-560. Permit Fees. Section 304 of the Uniform Mechanical Edition, is amended by changing item No. as follows: Code, 1967 1 to read 1. For the issuance of each permit --- $2.00 SECTION 25A: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-561 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-561. Refund of perf..it Fees. Section 304 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition, is amended by adding a paragraph to read as follows: When construction authorized by a permit is not begun and no inspections have been made, the Building Official shall, upon written request from the permittee, make refund of fees subject to the following limitations: The Building Official shall not make any refund of fees collected amounting to $2.00 or less. In case a refund is made, the amount of such refund shall not be more than 80% of the amount of the fee paid nor shall such refund include any part of the first $2.00 of such fee. No refund of such fee or part thereof shall be made unless applied for within one year from the date of the issuance of the permit. When fees are erroneously collected by duplication of permits or for construction outside the jurisdiction of the city of Santa Ana, 100% may be refunded. SECTION 26: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-562 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-562. ~einspection Fees. Section 306 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition, is amended by adding a paragraph to read as follows: When any reinspection is required due to the negli- gence of the permit holder, his agent, or other respon- sible persons, or due to the failure of said parties to comply with previous correction instructions, a fee of $5.00 may be charged by the Building Official prior to each such reinspection. SECTION 27: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-570 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-570. Readily Accessible. Section 420 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition, is amended by changing the definition of "Readily Accessible" to read as follows: READILY ACCESSIBLE means capable of being reached safely and quickly for operation, repair, or in~pe~ti0h without the use of portable ladders and without requir- ing those to whom ready access is requisite to climb over or remove obstacles. SECTION 28: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 8-600 thereto to read as follows: Sec. 8-600. C_ondensate Drain. Section 1202 of the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1967 Edition, is amended by adding a sentence to the fourth paragraph to read as follows: The minimum condensate drain size shall be not less than three quarter inch (3/4") and shall drain over the top and into an approved plumbing fixture or to a suit- able sandpit outside of the building or to other approved means. -15-
