(b) <br /> <br />In the event the requirements of 36-122(a), 36-122(b), <br />and 36-122(c), or 36-122(a), 36-122(b), and 36-122(d) <br />are met jointly, it shall be deemed that the warrants <br />have been met. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />The factor of numbers of school children in 36-122(b), <br />or the factor of numbers of traversing vehicles in <br />36-122(c) may be reduced to 75% of that hereinbefore <br />established, in the event the posted speed limit at <br />the subject location is 40 m.p h. or above, or 85% <br />or more of the through traffic aG such location <br />travels at a speed of 40 m.p.h, or more. <br /> <br />Sec. 36-124. Siqnal-controlled Locations. <br /> <br /> At a signal-controlled location, an adult school crossing <br />guard shall be provided as in 36-122 supra, in the event the <br />requirements of 36-122(b) occur when there are also 300 con- <br />flicting turning vehicles in any one-hour period; or when <br />conditions in 36-122(b) and 36-122(d) jointly occur; or <br /> <br /> When the requirements of 36-122(b) occur in conjunction <br />with special circumstances not normally experienced at <br />controlled intersections, such as crosswalks of greater than <br />80' length, auto-pedestrian accidents, or commercial vehicle <br />usage, substantially in excess of the norm. The factor of <br />300 vehicles may be reduced to 75% thereof if the contingencies <br />referred to in 36-123(c) occur. <br /> <br />Sec. 36-125. Boulevard Stop Locations. <br /> <br /> At boulevard stop locations, an adult school crossing <br />guard shall be provided as in 36-122, supra, in the event <br />the requirements of 36-122(b) occur when at peak periods the <br />minimum traffic volume (two-way) is 500 vehicles per hour on <br />the leg of the intersection where the children cross in any <br />one-hour period; or when conditions in 36-122(b) and 36-122(d) <br />jointly occur; or <br /> <br /> When the requirements of 36-122(b) occur in conjunction <br />with special circumstances not normally experienced at <br />controlled intersections, such as crosswalks of greater than <br />80' length, auto-pedestrian accidents, or commercial vehicle <br />usage, substantially in excess of the norm. The factor of <br />500 vehicles may be reduced to 75% thereof if the contingencies <br />referred to in 36-123(c) occur. <br /> <br />Sec. 36-126. Special Circumstances. <br /> <br /> In the event a location does not meet the above warrants <br />and the appropriate board of education,within whose juris- <br />diction this intersection is, feels that special circumstances <br />warrant the placement of an adult crossing guard at this <br />location to protect the children crossing to or from their <br />elementary school, the board may place an adult crossing guard <br />at this intersection at its own expense. In such event, the <br />city will place such guards under City Police control and will <br />provide them only with training and supervision at City expense. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall take effect thirty <br />days from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of May, 1970. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
