ORDINANCE NS-1021 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br />BY AMENDING SECTION 2-551 OF DIVISION 5 OF ARTICLE IV, <br />CHAPTER 2 THEREOF RELATING TO BOARD OF MUSEUM TRUSTEES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to correct an error which was carried <br />over in the recodification of the Municipal Code, said error <br />incorrectly describing the term of office for members of the Board <br />of Trustees of the Bowers Museum as three (3) years, it is necessary <br />that Section 2-551 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code be amended to <br />describe correctly the four (4) year term of said Trustees; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by amending Section 2-551 of Division 5 of Article IV, <br />Chapter 2 thereof to read in words and figures, as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-551. Same--Terms of Office. <br /> <br /> Each of said trustees shall hold office for a term of four <br />(4) years or until their successors are appointed. Such terms <br />shall be staggered so that one shall expire each year. Any <br />conflicts in terms shall be settled by the casting of lots. <br />Members of the board shall continue in office under the follow- <br />ing terms and conditions: The member who has served the longest <br />period of time since his appointment shall continue to serve <br />until June 30, 1951. Two (2) of the members of said board who <br />have served for the longest period of time since their appoint- <br />ment, next only to the trustee hereinabove referred to, shall <br />continue to serve until June 30, 1952, and the two (2) trustees <br />having served for the shortest time since their appointment <br />shall continue to serve until June 30, 1953. <br /> <br /> In the event there are any conflicts created by the above <br />formula because of trustees having served for identical periods <br />since their last appointment, then such trustees shall classify <br />themselves by lot. Vacancies on said board shall be filled by <br />appointment as hereinabove provided for the balance of the <br />unexpired term. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall take effect thirty <br />days from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of June, 1970. <br /> <br /> ATTEST: ~ <br /> - MAYOR <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss <br />CITY OF SANTA AiqA ) <br /> <br /> I, FLORENCE I.
