Sec. 41-619.10. Signs Not Designed to be Viewed from the Street <br /> <br /> Nothing in this Chapter shall prevent the location or con- <br />struction of signs on private property when such signs satisfy <br />all of the following conditions: <br /> <br />Such signs shall be designed so as to not be viewed from <br />any street or highway. <br />Such signs shall be designed to direct and guide <br />pedestrians and vehicular traffic while said traffic is <br />on the parcel of real property on which said signs are <br />located. No such sign shall advertise goods or services <br />sold on said premises. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.11. Directing of Li~htin~ of Signs. <br /> <br /> No artificial light of whatever type or nature used in con- <br />junction with, or for the purpose of, lighting any sign shall <br />be so located or constructed, nor shall any substance or material <br />capable of reflecting light be so placed as to result in directing <br />such artificial light into any structure used exclusively for <br />residential purposes. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619...12. Abandoned Signs. <br /> <br /> Effective ninety (90) days after the effective date of this <br />Article, all signs, including freestanding, roof, fin and <br />combination signs, which do not have permanently displayed <br />thereon the name of the owner of the sign as defined in Section <br />41-619.2 of this Code, shall be removed by an official of the <br />City of Santa Ana or his designated agent. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.13. Non-Conforming Signs. <br />1. Ail existing non-permanent advertising devices, including <br />portable, folding, paper, painted, and other movable signs, and <br />special feature items, such as banners, streamers and other <br />attracting devices, shall be removed within thirty (30) days of <br />the effective date of this Article, except where such devices <br />are authorized in accordance with Section 41-619.3 of this Code, <br />2. All existing-noD-conforming permanent signs which do not <br />conform to the provisions of this Article shall be made to <br />conform or shall be removed within ten (10) years after the <br />date of the original permit, but in no case less than two (2) <br />years from the effective date of this Article. <br /> <br /> When it has been determined that a sign is non-conforming, <br />the Planning Department shall send a written notice of non- <br />conformance to the owner. The owner will then have ninety (90) <br />days from the date of said notice in which to comply. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />from and after the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of August, 1970. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />-12- <br /> <br /> <br />
