ORDINANCE NS-1040 AMElqDING THE SANTA ANA <br />~JNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS 41-619.55 <br />AND 41-619.56 TO CHAPTER 41 THEREOF TO PROVIDE <br />REGULATIONS FOR OFF-PREMISE ADVERTISING SIGNS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Sections 41-619.55 and 41-619.56 are <br />hereby added to Article IV of Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code to read in words and figures, as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.55. <br />(a) Off-Premise <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br /> Location of Off-Premise Siqns. <br /> <br /> advertising signs shall be permitted in the C 2 <br />C 3, M 1 and M 2 Districts only. <br /> <br />NO new installation may be erected within 300 feet of an <br />existing off-premise advertising structure fronting on the <br />same side of the same street. <br /> <br />No new off-premise advertising sign may be erected in the <br />Civic Development zone as established in the official <br />Zoning Map of the City of Santa Ana. All existing roof struc- <br />tures within this area shall be removed within six (6) <br />months of the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />No new off-premise advertising sign shall be erected in the <br />Central Business District area as defined in this Section. <br />All existing roof structures within this area shall be re- <br />moved within a reasonable length of time as prescribed by <br />the Planning Commission and as circumstances permit. The <br />Central Business District for the purposes of this Section <br />consists of all C 2 and C 3 zoned properties located in the <br />area bounded by the north side of First Street, the south ; <br />side of Tenth Street, the east side of Ross Street, and the <br />west side of French Street. <br /> <br />Sec. 41-619.56. Specifications for Off-Premise Siqns. <br /> (a) No new roof installation of off-premise signs will be <br /> permitted. <br /> (b) All new off-premise advertising structures will be supported <br /> by two or less steel supports. <br /> (c) The back of any new off-premise advertising structure that <br /> may be readily viewed from a public street shall be screened <br /> in a manner approved by the Planning Department and the <br /> Department of Building Safety and Housing of the City. <br /> <br /> (d) Area and size limitations: <br /> 1. The standard poster panel shall not exceed overall <br /> dimensions of twelve (12) feet in height and twenty-five <br /> (25) feet in length for a total area not to exceed <br /> three hundred (300) square feet. <br /> 2. The standard painted bulletin shall not exceed overall <br /> dimensions of fourteen (14) feet in height and forty- <br /> eight (48) feet in length for a total area not to <br /> exceed six hundred seventy-two (672) square feet. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
