ORDINANCE NS-1080 AMENDING TI~E SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL
<br />CODE BY AMENDING SECTIONS 41-88, 41-472, AND 41-473
<br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO USES PERMITTED IN THE M-1
<br />(LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT AND ADDING SECTION
<br />41-80 THERETO
<br />
<br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
<br />FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br /> SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended
<br />by adding Section 41-80 thereto to read in words and figures, as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br /> Sec. 41-80. Inoperable Vehicles.
<br /> Any vehicle, either mechanically or legally incapable
<br /> of being driven on a public street or highway.
<br />
<br /> SECTION 2: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended
<br />by amending Section 41-88 thereof to read in words and figures as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />Sec. 41-88. Junk Yards; Automobile Wrecking Yards; Salvage
<br /> Yards; and Impound Yards.
<br />
<br />A junk yard, automobile wrecking yard, salvage yard or impound
<br />yard is any space of two hundred (200) square feet or more of
<br />the area of any lot used for the storage, sale, keeping or
<br />abandonment of inoperable vehicles, junk or waste material, includinc
<br />scrap metal or other scrap materials, or for the dismantling,
<br />demolition or abandonment of automobiles, other vehicles, machinery,
<br />or parts thereof. ~

<br /> SECTION 3: That the

<br />
<br />Sec. 41-472. Uses Permitted.
<br />
<br />(a) The compounding, processing, packaging or treatment of such
<br /> products as candy, cosmetics, drugs, perfumes, pharmaceuticals,
<br /> toiletries, and food products, except the rendering and
<br /> refining of fats and oils;
<br />
<br />(b) The manufacture, compounding, assembly of articles or merchan-
<br /> dise from the following previously prepared materials:
<br /> aluminum, bone, brass, cellophane, camelback, canvas, cloth, cor
<br /> copper, feathers, felt, fibre, fur, glass, hair, horn, latex,
<br /> lead, leather, paint, paper, plastics, precious or semi-precious
<br /> metals or stone, shell, rubber, tin, iron, steel, tobacco,
<br /> wood and yarns;
<br />
<br />(c) The manufacture of pottery, figurines, or similar ceramic
<br /> products using only previously pulverized clay and kilns fired
<br /> only by electricity or gas;
<br />(d) Foundry casting lightweight, non-ferrous metal;
<br />(e) Petroleum and gas storage;
<br />(f) Planing mill;
<br />
<br />(g) Machine shop or, other meta~ working shops;
<br />
<br />(h) The following non-industrial uses:
<br />
<br /> (1)
<br />
<br /> Accessory commercial uses which are necessary yet
<br /> incidental to a permitted use under this section;
<br />
<br />(2) Signs shall be permitted in the manner prescribed in
<br /> Article IV of this Chapter;
