ORDINANCE NS-1141 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION #710 <br />FILED BY SANTA ANA PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE <br />PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS THAT AREA BOUNDED ON THE <br />NORTH BY ALTON AVENUE; ON THE EAST BY THE ORANGE <br />COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL CHANNEL; ON THE SOUTH BY THE <br />WESTERLY PROLONGATION OF MACARTHUR BLVD. ; AND ON <br />THE WEST BY THE NORTHERLY PROLONGATION OF BEAR <br />STREET FROM THE A 1 AND R 1 DISTRICTS TO THE R <br />2-PRD DISTRICT AND AMENDING SECTIONAL MAPS 26-5-10 <br />AND 35-5-10 (EXHIBIT A.A. 710-A) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and <br />duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application $710~ filed <br />by the Santa Aha Planning Comission proposing to rezone the <br />property described as that area bounded on the north by Alton <br />Avenue; on the east by the Orange County Flood Control Channel; <br />on the south by the westerly prolongation of MacArthur Blvd.; <br />and on the west by the northerly prolongation of Bear Street <br />from the A 1 and R 1 District to the R 2-PRD District and said <br />CoImnission by its Resolution 96009 has reconunended approval re- <br />classifying from the A 1 and R 1 Districts to the R 2-PRD District <br />in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 710-A, and: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council regularaly held a public hearing on <br />said reclassification on published notice as required by law, and <br />does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and general <br />welfare require that said property be rezoned from the A1 and R 1 <br />Districts to the R 2-PRD District and that the new classification <br />will not be detrimental to the surrounding property: <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Aha, <br />County of Orange, State of California, described as: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Alton Avenue <br />and the westerly boundary line of the Orange County Flood Control <br />Channel~ thence southeast along the westerly boundary line of the <br />Orange County Flood Control Channel to the centerline of MacArthur <br />Boulevard; thence west along the centerline of MacArthur Boulevard <br />for a distance of 1794.17 feet, more or less, to the centerline of <br />Bear Street; thence north along the centerl~ne of Bear Street for a <br />distance of 1371.87 feet, more or less, to the centerline of Alton <br />Avenue; thence east along the centerline of Alton Avenue for a <br />distance of 1019.07, more or less, to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />is hereby reclassified from the A 1 and R 1 Districts to the R 2-PRD <br />District and Section District Maps 26-5-10 and 35-5-10 as revised, <br />are hereby amended to show said reclassification in accordance with <br />Exhibit A.A. 710-A. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the <br />passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in <br />some daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days <br />from and after the date of its adoption, except as herein specifi- <br />cally provided. <br /> <br /> <br />
