d. Boiler rooms, mechanical rooms, electrical panel rooms, <br />exit passageways, stairways, and corridors shall not be <br />used for storage. <br /> <br />e. Electric motors, filters on heating equipment, and <br />grease hoods shall be checked periodically and kept clean <br />and maintained in a safe operating condition. <br /> <br /> SECTION 16: Section 14~23 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is <br />hereby renumbered as Section 14-22 and amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-22. Appendix F Amended. <br /> <br />Appendix F of the Uniform Fire Code, adopted in Section 14-1 <br />of this Chapter, is amended to read as follows. <br /> <br />1. Establishment and duties of bureau of fire prevention. <br /> <br />a. The uniform fire code shall be enforced by the bureau <br />of fire prevention in the fire department of the City of <br />Santa Ana which shall be operated under the supervision of <br />the chief of the fire department. <br /> <br />b. The fire marshal in charge of the bureau of fire preven- <br />tion shall be appointed by the chief of the fire department. <br /> <br />c. The chief of the fire department may detail such members <br />of the fire department as inspectors as shall from time to <br />time be necessary. The chief of the fire department shall <br />recommend to the city manager the employment of technical <br />inspectors, who, when such authorization is made, shall be <br />selected through an examination to determine their fitness <br />for the position. The examination shall be open to members <br />and non-members of the fire department, and appointments <br />made after examination shall be for an indefinite term, with <br />removal only for cause. <br /> <br />2. Definitions. <br /> <br />a. Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the uniform <br />fire code, it shall be held to mean the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />b. Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is used in the <br />uniform fire code, it shall be held to mean the city attorney <br />of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />c. Wherever the term "chief of the bureau of fire prevention" <br />is used in the uniform fire code, it shall be held to mean <br />the fire marshal. <br /> <br />3. Establishment of limits of districts in which storage of <br />fla/nmable or combustible liquids in outside above-ground <br />tanks is to be prohibited. <br /> <br />a. The limits referred to in section 15.201 of the uniform <br />fire code in which storage of flammable or combustible liquids <br />in outside aboveground tanks is prohibited are as governed by <br />the zoning ordinance of 1960 (as ~raended) of the City of <br />Santa Ana. <br /> <br />-10- <br /> <br /> <br />
